VibeCodeDex Weekly #1

Week of October 11 to 17, 2026 · 5-minute read · every item links to a primary source

Hey builders 👋 Welcome to issue #1. Each week we round up the AI agent and vibe-coding launches that matter, explain why they matter, and skip the hype. This week a coding editor became part of a social-media subscription, Android opened up to apps built by prompt, and three new “manage all your agents” products launched in the same 48 hours.

🔥 The big one

Cursor is now part of “The X Subscription” (Oct 12)

SpaceXSI bundled Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium into one plan: Free, Plus $8/mo, Premium $30/mo, Super $100/mo and Ultra $200/mo. Grok and Cursor share one weekly usage pool. Third-party models such as Claude and GPT aren’t included: on Premium and above they’re billed at API list price. Existing Cursor Pro ($20) and Pro+ ($60) subscribers can keep their legacy plans.

Why it matters: the cheapest way into Cursor is now $8, but if you live on Claude or GPT inside Cursor, check your real cost before switching. → Announcement · Cursor pricing docs · TechCrunch · Our updated Cursor page

🚀 Launches

Google Play now runs private, vibe-coded apps (Oct 13). You can build an app and run it on your own Android phone through Google Play with your normal Google account. It stays private: it doesn’t appear in Play search or listings. → TechCrunch

Vani Code Agent for VS Code (Oct 14). A free VS Code extension: a coding agent that edits files with diff review and runs commands with your approval. You pay for usage through your Vani API key. Desktop apps and a CLI are next. → Vani announcement

Builder.io launches Agent-Native, in beta (Oct 14). An open-source TypeScript framework for building AI agents that have real UIs, not just chat boxes. → Builder.io blog

Google makes Deep Review public (Oct 14). An agentic system that fact-checks and critiques technical documents. Before launch it reviewed 16,000+ manuscripts at STOC, ICML, NeurIPS and ICLR. Antigravity users also get a “Teamwork Deep Document Review” pattern. → Google Research

BAND for Developers (Oct 15). A desktop app for seeing and controlling several coding agents across different harnesses, machines and environments. → Press release

Lovable apps get built-in AI models and tools (Oct 15). Apps built on Lovable can now use the latest Claude models, GPT-Live, Gemini models, Perplexity, Firecrawl and more as features. Lovable also shipped Deploy on Azure (Oct 15) and customer-growth tools (Oct 14). → Lovable blog · Our Lovable page

🧠 Models

Meta’s Muse Spark Open (Oct 15). An open-weight coding model built for agent work: an 816B mixture-of-experts with 42B active parameters and a 1M-token context window, trained on NVIDIA GB300 NVL72. → NVIDIA developer blog

Codex retires GPT-5.5 for ChatGPT sign-in (Oct 14). If you use Codex through your ChatGPT login, GPT-5.5 is gone. API-key sessions aren’t affected. Codex now offers GPT-6.1 Sol and GPT-6 Luna. → Codex pricing & model notes · Our Codex page

💸 Price watch

  • Devin / Devin Desktop: free SWE-2 usage on self-serve plans ran through Oct 16, 2026. Check your usage now that it’s over. → Devin pricing
  • Cursor: new pricing tiers (see above). Legacy plans still exist for current subscribers.

👀 In case you missed it

  • LiteLLM open-sourced Moyai (Oct 7), a self-hosted cloud coding agent. Give it a task in Slack or the browser and get back a pull request with test results. Works with Codex, Claude Agent SDK and more. → LiteLLM blog
  • Adalo shipped Ada (reported Oct 11), an AI that generates multi-screen apps you then edit visually. → DiffVibe (secondary source; primary announcement not yet checked)

⚔️ This week’s head-to-head

Cursor’s pricing changed, so we updated Cursor vs Windsurf (now Devin Desktop). Short version: Cursor is cheaper to start ($8); Devin Desktop’s $20 Pro includes frontier third-party models.
